(VEGAN/VEGETARIAN) Meatless March is in full swing and people across the world are embracing veganism and vegetarianism for their health, religion, the environment, and compassion for animals.
During the month of March, you can cut back on your meat consumption by taking the Meat-Free Mondays Challenge. You can even eliminate all animal products from your diet and go completely vegan.
For inspiration and insight you can also follow The Well-Intentioned Eater.
If you are new to a meat-free lifestyle, cut back gradually and start substituting plant-based proteins like beans and tofu into your diet.
If you are already vegan or vegetarian, it’s a good time to evaluate your diet and make sure you are meeting all of your nutritional requirements.
Be sure to eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and plant proteins and include snacks to keep up your energy and keep hunger at bay.
Setting specific goals will help you stay focused. You can try Meat-Free Mondays or reverse it and have meat once a week.
You can even try having only one serving of meat, dairy, or eggs a day.
Eventually, you will be able to cut animal products out completely for a cruelty-free diet.
