Paul McCartney stars in a new Thanksgiving ad for PETA – and as you would expect, it’s all about saving the birds. ”Say No, Thanks to Turkey,” the ad says. “Go Vegetarian.”

The ad is the second pro-veg ad that Paul has done for the animal rights org in recent years – with a 2008 campaign revealing the source of his animal advocacy.

“Many years ago, I was fishing, and as I was reeling in the poor fish, I realised, ‘I am killing him – all for the passing pleasure it brings me.’ “Something inside me clicked. I realised as I watched him fight for breath, that his life was as important to him and mine is to me”.

Besides the ad, PETA also links to their fairly large vegan Thanksgiving recipe page – encouraging people to cook like Paul and make the holiday a cruelty-free celebration.

“Like chickens, the 300 million turkeys raised and killed for their flesh every year in the United States have no federal legal protection,” the org says. “More than 45 million turkeys are killed each year at Thanksgiving alone, and more than 22 million die at Christmas.”

Paul, stick to music. Your smug, cocky face on that poster is a huge turn off. Just play music and leave food to the rest of us.

Ex-Beetle dude says to save the Turkeys because they don't deserve it! Have you ever broken into a house that has a pet turkey? They are NOT INVITING and are in fact MEAN!

ABSOLUTELY. You will never hear him speak out against abortion as a birth control. I'm eating turkey tomorrow and I will enjoy it.

Why doesn't Paul cry out for the millions of murdered babies like he cries for the turkeys. Animals are far less important than humans.
