(ANIMAL RESCUE) Life for walrus calf Mitik looks a little brighter, as he is happily settling in his new home in New York. Mitik, or Mit for short, separated from his herd in the Arctic Ocean, becoming orphaned in Alaska in July. Mit resided temporarily at the Alaska SeaLife Center, where shortly after an eager staff from the New York Aquarium came to meet and retrieve the pup.
