Can’t make the march? You can still be heard by calling your local Japanese Embassy or Consulate office and politely asking them to reconsider their whale and dolphin hunting policies. The Washington number is 202-238-6700. Here is a list of worldwide offices: www.mofa.go.jp

World Wide Anti-Whaling Day Press Release:

Global Anti-Whaling Community Unifies Nov. 5, 2010

Thousands of concerned citizens will take to the streets at Japanese Embassies/Consulates throughout the world to protest Japan’s illegal whaling activities. Japan, criticized internationally for decades, continues commercial whaling under the guise of “Scientific Research”. The controversial whaling practices are documented in the hit TV series “Whale Wars”. In addition to whaling, Japan persists in the bloody dolphin slaughter which gained the world’s attention in the Academy Award winning documentary, “The Cove.”

Harnessing the power of social media, what began as a small group on Facebook, now includes 6 continents, 22 countries and 57 cities, whose citizens will unite as one to protest the graphic violence against cetaceans.

The organization, World Wide Anti-Whaling Day (WWAWD), invites you to take part in these peaceful, international protests in a locale near you. [See below for all cities holding a protest.]

Group founder, Jim Farry, reminds us all that “one person can truly make a difference.”
