(SEAWORLD/CELEBRITY NEWS) Smodcast founder and filmmaker Kevin Smith recently took some time from making his upcoming movie Clerks III to sit down and watch Blackfish.
The documentary evidently hit home with the director of Mallrats, who shared his thoughts on the film via Twitter last Friday.

Smith tweeted:
“Finally watching @BlackFishMovie. Holy. S***. This is depressing. I’m never going to a zoo or aquarium again.”
Known for his humorous take on relationships and untouchable wit, Smith continued to show his more serious side over the weekend writing:
“15 hrs since watching @BlackFishMovie and the mother orca screaming for her child still haunts me. Please, @SeaWorld: time to #EmptyTheTanks.”
Smith’s comments come at a time when SeaWorld has fallen under harsh yet justified criticism. Everyday, more celebrities are boycotting the amusement park after viewing the film.
The psychological trauma killer whales suffer in captivity is significant, and thanks to Blackfish the public is starting to take notice of these issues.
It looks like SeaWorld has sealed their own fate, but only time will tell how much longer they’re in business.
