(MISSING PETS) After going missing in the JFK airport seven weeks ago, Jack has yet to be reunited with his guardian. Jack’s guardian, airport staff, and a pet detective have scoured the airport but have yet to find Jack. However, volunteers will congregate at JFK airport today to form a giant search party and to raise awareness about the necessary safety measures needed for pet travel safety. On August 25, the kennel holding Jack fell from the rest of his guardian’s luggage, giving Jack the chance to wander away. Although the incident was accidental, both travelers and airports can do better a job at properly preparing pets for air travel.

We urge Global Animals in the NYC area to attend Jack the Cat Awareness Day at JFK airport today. Volunteers will meet at VetPort on Cargo Plaza Road, Building #189, Jamaica, NY 11430 at 4 p.m. At the airport, volunteers will hand out awareness flyers. Spreading awareness about Jack’s missing status to people in and around the airport is very important as “any one of them could be the one who sees Jack, but they need to know he is missing,” says Bonnie Folz, one of Jack’s supporters.
