(ANIMAL ACTIVISM) Sitting at the forefront of the animal rights movement, the cross-platform documentary The Ghosts in our Machine brings an important message to dinner tables, closets, laboratories, as well as zoos and marine parks across the globe. A donation page has been set up on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo in order to put the film on the map in the largest, most competitive film market in the world, and it has until September 27 to reach its funding goal of $30,000. Puppy Love: Ellen DeGeneres & Portia Adopt ‘Kid’

(CELEBRITIES/PETS) In today's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedian and talk show host announced she and her wife Portia de Rossi adopted a nine-week-old, mixed breed puppy named Kid. DeGeneres says she named the new puppy "Kid" in response to frequent speculation whether she and De Rossi will eventually adopt a child of their own.
