(WILDLIFE/CUTE ANIMAL VIDEOS) Meet Messi, the two-year-old puma from Penza, Russia. Unlike most big cats, Messi lives with a couple in a one-bedroom apartment. Messi was one of three cubs born at Saransk Zoo who were named after famous international soccer players to celebrate the city hosting four matches in the group stages of the World Cup.

The cub was then sold to the Penza Zoo when he was just three months old, and subsequently rescued by Maria and Aleksandr Dmitriev when he was a sickly eight-month old cub. Since Messi was smaller than most pumas due to his early onset health problems, he needed a lot of medical attention and care. Luckily, the Dmitrievs took their parenthood very seriously.
