(OCEANS/CUTE ANIMAL VIDEOS) When famed Australian diver and ocean conservationist Valerie Taylor first discovered the home of a spotted moral eel near Banda Island, Indonesia, she tried to befriend the animal by offering a fish. Of course, the eel hid–a natural reaction to being approached by a human. But after Taylor tried a few more times over the course of several years, she eventually won the grumpy animal over. Ever since, the 6-foot-long, brown spotted eel–affectionately named “Honey”–has seemed to recognize and approach her. According to Taylor, the eel even seems to love being held and cuddled. “We have become great friends,” Taylor said in a video posted by the Central Florida Aquarium Society. — Global Animal
