(WILDLIFE RESCUE/BIRDS/CUTE ANIMAL VIDEOS) Squish the baby flamingo hatched from an abandoned egg that zoo keepers found and incubated at the Jurong Bird Park’s Breeding and Research Centre in Singapore.

A month later, on June 7, the baby chick was born, weighing 90.5g. Keepers worked around the clock to care for him, feeding him a special formula, similar to a flamingo’s crop milk, multiple times a day.

Today, Squish weighs a healthy 1.2kg. To develop strength in his long, growing legs, Squish goes on daily short walks, wearing handmade blue booties custom-made for him to protect his delicate feet from the hard ground surfaces outside the centre.

Once he reaches three months, he will be integrated into the flamingo flock flock at the park’s Flamingo Lake, managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore. — Global Animal
