World’s Largest Rabbit Dies In United Airlines’ Latest PR Disaster

(ANIMAL NEWS/PET TRAVEL) Less than three weeks after a passenger was dragged off a United Airlines flight at the Chicago airport, the infamous U.S. airline carrier is facing yet another public relations fiasco after an apparently healthy Continental Giant rabbit died mysteriously on a flight from Britain to Chicago. Simon, the 3-foot rabbit, destined to be the world’s biggest bunny, was traveling to his new home in the U.S. when he died in the cargo hold area of a Boeing 767 while waiting for a connecting flight. This incident draws more unwanted attention to the fact that the airline carrier is currently accountable for more than a third of U.S. animal deaths on passenger flights in the last five years. With 53 animal deaths taking place on its flights between January 2012 and February 2017, it's clear United needs to take immediate action and improve their standards and regulations to prevent further wrongful deaths and provide a safer environment for our pets. Read on to learn more about United's declining reputation and check out these 10 tips for safe air travel. -- Global Animal

The Planet Can’t Stand This Presidency: ‘Breaking The Back’ Of The Climate

(CLIMATE CHANGE/GLOBAL WARMING) Despite the fact the Earth just experienced its hottest year on record, climate change denials are foolishly becoming national policy as U.S. President Donald Trump signs one executive order after another reversing President Barack Obama's plans to reduce carbon emissions. Given this stark divide between scientific fact and what our politicians will allow for in terms of action, it's become increasingly apparent that we have a limited time to curb global warming, and if we don't do something soon, the damage could be irreversible. Trump's environmental policies (or lack there of) will have a ripple effect for thousands of years to come that we may never recover from--i.e. making certain species and fauna extinct. In the article below, learn more about our Earth's dire need for climate change policy, and see what we could lose for good. -- Global Animal

(ENVIRONMENT/SCIENCE) Today, on Earth Day, tens of thousands are taking a stand against those working to undermine scientific data in the global "March for Science" in Washington D.C. and over 600 other cities across the world. In the dawn of U.S. President Donald Trump, who’s described climate change as a “hoax” and recently signed an executive order reversing Obama's environmental policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, our voices must be heard now more than ever. The "March for Science" is a call for our politicians to implement science-based policies, and a means of standing up to those who belittle scientists and the role they play in understanding how our human actions impact the Earth's climate. Read on to learn more about the unprecedented Science March and it's global significance. -- Global Animal
