(WILDLIFE/ELEPHANTS/ANIMAL VIDEO) “Hercules” the elephant is the new king of the jungle after driving off a pride of predators in Zambia. The 1-year-old elephant wandered off from his mother near  the Norman Carr Safaris Chinzombo Camp, and came upon 14 female lions who began attacking the young animal. But somehow, this story avoids an unhappy ending as the lions were unable to take down the young elephant who somehow miraculously escaped. The whole event was caught on tape by a group with Norman Carr Safaris.

“In the 30-plus years I have been a safari guide in Zambia at the [Luangwa] Park, never have I seen anything like this,” says the guide who drove the group to the site. “We were all so worried the baby elephant would be killed right before us.” Instead, he ended up reuniting with his herd. — Global Animal
