(CUTE ANIMAL VIDEO/THERAPY DOGS) Golden Retrievers flew from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport Monday morning to bring comfort to families and victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting. The Comfort Dog Ministry, which includes 19 people traveling with 12 of the service dogs, are visiting counseling centers and families impacted by the tragedy. They will also be working in local hospitals with injured victims and first responders.
“When you pet the dogs they pick up the emotions of people petting them, and it’s the same way when you’re talking to people and hearing their stories, you feel for them,” said Hetzner.
The dogs are expected to stay in Orlando for at least a week, but possibly longer depending on the community’s needs. — Global Animal
