Daisy The Dog’s First Walk In Prosthetic Legs

(CUTE ANIMAL VIDEO/RESCUE DOGS) This pup named Daisy was born with a congenital disorder that caused her shoulder, elbow, and back hips to dislocate from their sockets, making it nearly impossible for her to walk. Given her condition, she was slated for euthanasia at the local shelter. But luckily another no-kill organization stepped in to give her a second leash at life. After seven long months, Daisy finally found a loving forever home, and now has a proper set of prosthetic legs to help her move around. Take a look at Daisy's very first time walking in her prosthetic legs. -- Global Animal

U.S. Navy Reels In Deadly Training

(WHALES/OCEAN CONSERVATION) In a recent settlement with environmental groups, the Navy agreed to reduce its use of sonar and other training harmful to whales, dolphins, and other marine life off the coasts of Hawaii and California. Sonar can often disturb marine animals' feeding and communication, and in some cases, these training exercises can be deadly. In fact, the Navy estimated it could kill over 150 whales and dolphins in the Pacific from explosive training exercises. While this new agreement set the stage for further negotiation, the court ruling has not prevented the Navy from continued training exercises permitted by the National Marine Fisheries Service. Read on to learn more about this necessary step in the right direction, and click here to sign the petition requesting the Navy ceases operation of its underwater sound system. -- Global Animal

The video above documents the rescued puppies' progress. Watch them as they grow bigger, stronger, happier, healthier, and ready to become the best, most loving pets to their new families.
