“We are very pleased to welcome Juice Beauty back into our program. It is so gratifying to see companies recognize how important it is to be Leaping Bunny certified and how meaningful the logo is. We look forward to working with Juice Beauty in the future to promote their cruelty-free status,” said CCIC Communications Manager Kim Paschen.
Juice Beauty had previously been certified by CCIC, but in 2009 was removed after the company declined to be audited. One of the stipulations for companies to remain Leaping Bunny certified is to be open to third-party audits, which provide assurance of compliance with the CCIC standard.
Since that time, representatives from Juice Beauty decided to recommit to the Leaping Bunny Program and have been working with CCIC to regain certification. They have completed all of the steps necessary for rejoining the program, including agreeing to an audit and maintaining their original fixed cut-off date after which no animal testing could have taken place.
Karen Behnke, the founder of Juice Beauty stated,
“At Juice Beauty, we are proud to achieve Leaping Bunny approval, assuring that absolutely no animal testing is used in any phase of our product development and manufacturing. Juice Beauty offers a cruelty-free standard, for our clinically validated, authentically organic skincare and makeup products that contain all the great benefits of conventional brands but without harmful chemicals; and beyond natural brands…all the way to organically farmed ingredients without pesticides.”
The Leaping Bunny Program offers the most up-to-date list of companies that have committed to no new animal testing throughout their manufacturing process, from ingredients to finished products. All Leaping Bunny companies must be open to independent audits for verification, and pledge commitments are renewed on an annual basis. The Leaping Bunny Logo is consistently ranked by third parties as the most meaningful cruelty-free logo.
