Celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Ryan Gosling are notorious for giving these pets the lives that so many of us will never get to enjoy. These pets have thousands of followers on Twitter and Instagram, and are probably more famous than any of us could ever dream to be. Some of these pets even get to appear on television with their parents (CeeLo Green famously brought his cat Purrfect with him to tapings of NBC's The Voice). Despite the fact these pets live the glamorous life, we love them all. Check out this gallery of our top 10 favorite celebrity pets. — Global Animal

Deadly Dental Experiment Drills Dogs

(DOGS/ANIMAL TESTING) GEORGIA — An undercover investigation of Georgia Regents University (GRU) exposed shocking truths about the mistreatment of dogs used in their dental experiments. The experiments are largely unnecessary and have little to no purpose. After the dogs have their teeth painfully removed and replaced with dental implants, they are euthanized for a small part of their jaw bone. In the words of James Jensvold, the poor victims are being treated "as little different from a test tube." GRU recently responded to the video with heavy retaliation, claiming the dogs were anesthetized before removal of their teeth and that the research is far from "frivolous" or "unnecessary." Regardless, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) filed legal complaints against several of the organizations involved. Approximately 65,000 dogs are used for experimental purposes in the U.S. alone. Read the details of the undercover investigation below and take action by signing the petition to stop these shameless dealers. PETA Praised For Anti-Animal Testing Campaigns

(ANIMAL TESTING) In a ceremony earlier this month, LUSH, a vegan-friendly cosmetics line, announced the winners for their LUSH Prize, a series of awards given to those organizations and individuals that have promoted the use of non-animal research and advanced the cause against animal testing. This year, PETA won the LUSH Prize for Public Awareness for their anti-animal testing projects. PETA's Laboratory Investigations Department has led many successful campaigns in the last year against animal testing practices including convincing several airlines to stop transporting primates to labs and bringing attention to horrific brain experiments on cats at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Read on for more on the awards and PETA's record of protecting animals from harmful and unncessary experimentation. — Global Animal

(MEATLESS/VEGETARIAN THANKSGIVING) Lets talk turkey—or in this case, let's not! This week, Elana's Meat-Free Monday gave us lots of delicious vegan recipes for our Thanksgiving Day meal, but for some of us, Thanksgiving just isn’t the same without the turkey. It's part of our holiday tradition—family, good friends, and eating way too much pie, sweet potatoes, stuffing and turkey. But keeping a meat-free holiday in mind, I decided to venture out and find a turkey substitute. And as it turns out, there are quite a few vegan and vegetarian options to choose from: Tofurky, Quorn, Gardein, Vegetarian Plus, and Field Roast. — Global Animal

Kim Basinger Takes A Bite Out Of Dog Dental Experiments

(CELEBRITIES/DOGS) Actress and animal activist Kim Basinger is fighting to stop deadly dental implant experiments being conducted on dogs. No stranger to controversy, Alec Baldwin's ex-wife narrates a short film, produced by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), exposing the horrific treatment dogs are enduring at a Georgia Regents University lab. The shocking new footage from a three-month-long undercover investigation reveals dogs undergoing cruel and painful experiments that are unnecessary and not required by law. To make matters worse, the HSUS documented proof that these dogs are being obtained from Class B dealers, who unscrupulously round-up dogs from "random sources" like auction houses and flea markets despite knowing they frequently traffic stolen family pets. The LA Confidential star isn't just the narrator of the film, but she's also experienced this kind of trauma first-hand. Read below for more on the Oscar-winning actress' tragic story and the HSUS's investigation. Take action by signing the petition to stop these shameless dealers. Pet Tragedy Strikes On “Family Guy”

(DOGS/ TV) In an event that rocked the television world last night, Brian Griffin, Family Guy’s chief canine, died after being struck by a car. Before his passing, Brain’s last words to his family were, “You’ve given me a wonderful life. I love you all.” Brian entertained the world for the last 14 years as a key member of FOX’s animated series, and is survived by his loving but dysfunctional family, Stewie, Peter, Lois, Meg and Chris. Brain’s untimely death comes right before a rumored crossover episode between Family Guy and The Simpsons. A lovable drunk, Brain enjoyed defending the merits of liberalism, and writing universally hated novels is his spare time. The cartoon dog is already missed; a change.org petition urging Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane to bring Brain back already has over 2,500 supporters. — Global Animal
