Local residents debuted a short film exposing the appalling conditions animals are subjected to at Colon’s Zoo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The footage revealed an entire animal community plagued by abuse and neglect on a day-to-day basis.
Many disturbing scenes were shown including lions, emaciated and malnourished; bears and tigers, living in unsanitary and abnormally small caged areas; and monkeys, confused and frightened by the thunderous roar of a large crowd at the neighboring soccer field.

The film by Geraldine Vidal has aided in bringing worldwide awareness to Colon’s Zoo. Petitions are circulating, demanding help for the animals of the inhumane establishment.
Government officials are also aware of the maltreatment taking place at Colon’s Zoo and are allegedly working on a plan to relocate the animals to reserves.
The animals living in these cruel conditions are dying, and Colon’s Zoo must take responsibility for its actions. Sign the petition urging that the Colon’s Zoo animals be fed or freed!
Poor animals. The owner of the zoo has to get to the prison for his cruelty!
Have no words, only tears 🙁 <3.
You need to start taking care of these animals or turn them back to the wild. This is very curel behavior!
I am outraged by the photos of the neglected animals at Colon's Zoo. Immediate attention must be given to them and they need to be relocated to a humane animal sanctuary.
