Singer Ricky Martin feels better than ever after switching to a vegetarian diet seven weeks ago.
“Seven weeks on a vegetarian diet! I feel amazing!” Martin tweeted Feb. 26 to his 8.1 million Twitter followers.
Ricky, 41, noted that he has cut red meat, chicken and fish out of his diet and proudly tweeted a photo of a mango chutney dish he prepared (see above). In addition to his new plant-based diet, the buff 5-foot-11 Martin does yoga, Zumba dance classes and strength-training to maintain his youthful physique.
Ricky has said yoga keeps him calm and centered. “I just ask people, ‘Can I have 20 minutes for myself so I can just breathe?’ “said Martin of his daily yoga practice. “I turn off the radio and television and just sit there and breathe five seconds in, five seconds out. Just to find my center.”
Ricky, who came out in 2010, is dating stockbroker Carlos Gonzalez Abella and is happier than ever.
“I’m in a really cool place in my life,” Martin told Details. “I feel great. I go to the gym. I do yoga. I’m a father to two toddlers, and lifting them is a workout — this is biceps, this is triceps. I also try to make love. That helps.”
