Morrissey is known for not compromising his morals when it comes to animal rights. The singer, who was supposed to perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” tonight, has canceled his appearance so he will not be associated with the cast of the show “Duck Dynasty”.
Morrissey released a statement saying, “Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, Feb. 26. However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of Duck Dynasty will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.”
While Duck Dynasty will not be removed, according to Huffington Post, the singer will be rescheduled so there is no conflict.
“Duck Dynasty” follows the lives of the Robertson family who made their fortune with their company Duck Commander. They sell duck calls and other hunting paraphernalia. Morrissey, a devoted animal rights activist, told E! Online, “As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty, then we must step away.”
