Many have seen a photo of this one-of-a-kind canine circulating the Internet this past week, and wondered: “Is he part human?”
But contrary to speculation, the image features a two-year-old, poodle-Shih Tzu mix named Tonik, whose soulful expression has taken the World Wide Web by storm.
The person-faced pup was recently saved from a kill shelter in Kentucky and brought to the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group, an animal welfare agency in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he is now ready for immediate adoption.
As his Petfinder entry mentions, “Tonik came to us from a kill shelter in Kentucky and there is a very sweet boy in there who is trying to figure things out and enjoy people. It seems he has not had too much socialization. He is great with other dogs. He is not dangerous, but should not be placed with young children because he will get too overwhelmed.”
The entry continues, “He will need a home with lots of patience & good energy. His approx.birth date is 02/01/11 and he weighs 11#. He has been vet checked, neutered, micro chipped, heart worm tested negative is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies & has been treated with advantage multi per our protocol.”
Tonik is eagerly awaiting his forever home, and for an adoption fee of $250, he could become a part of your family! Interested parties must visit the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group to pick him up, as the group has a policy against shipping or transporting their dogs.
