“Silence of the Lambs” Breeders Shut Down

(DOG BREEDERS) The American Kennel Club’s (AKC) reputability has been in question for quite some time now. Last year, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) released a report accusing the AKC of allowing big commercial breeders to pass inspection even when their animals are kept in horrendous conditions like those found at puppy mills. Now, a Washington state couple—described as “seemingly the perfect people for raising and selling purebreds”—have been charged with animal cruelty after their premises were raided for raising their dogs in unbearable conditions. Despite living conditions that have been compared to a scene from Silence of the Lambs, the breeders were shockingly AKC registered and approved. The AKC is an organization that is supposed to protect dogs, but continuously fails to do its job. It’s time the AKC steps up and stops letting animal cruelty go unnoticed. 2. Neither the AKC nor the CKC is a policing organization…I'm not sure why they inspect kennels and give them a stamp of approval. All they're really interested in is collecting their fees for registering purebred dogs. And then they simply take the word of the breeder that the papers submitted for registration are valid. Purebred dogs and cats can and do sometimes come from puppy mills.

  3. OMG! If they can get awy wit animal cruelty then that don't sy much for AKC now does it! They need to be punished to the fullest extent a the law use them as a EXAMPLE! To show the world that animal cruelty an abuse needs to b stopped not yesterdy but TODAY an alwys!
