COPENHAGEN — The Circus Benneweis’ two star elephants staged their own walkout last week. Linked trunk to tail, Sonia and Vana Mana were found marching single file down a busy street in the Danish capital of Copenhagen just 200 meters from their show’s venue.

After the elephants’ escape was foiled by their trainer, local police blocked off the street to ensure the elephants were returned safely to their troupe.

“Nobody was hurt, so it was just two elephants out for a stroll,” one of the police officers said.
