Reality television star Kim Kardashian may not have the best reputation amongst animal activists after she was flourbombed for wearing leather and fur products and slammed in a PETA advertisement for being seen in fur despite supporting the organization’s no-fur campaign in 2008. However, the famous-for-being-famous star might be making a step in the right direction after recently adopting a kitten. But we can’t help but wonder: is this Teacup Persian kitten really adopted?
Kardashian arrived with her new pet at her family-owned boutique, Dash, in Miami on Sunday, ironically wearing a black leather skirt. Kim has been targeted by protestors for wearing fur in the past, but her latest accessory is still breathing.
She was seen again with the kitten while filming Kourtney and Kim Take New York as she took a walk down the marina with sister, Khloe.
Kardashian later shared several pictures of the kitten on Instagram, while announcing on Twitter that the kitten’s name is Mercy—a nod to boyfriend Kanye West’s song “Mercy,” the lead single off his recently released album, Cruel Summer.
It looks like Mercy is already working away as Kanye’s album promoter. We can’t help but think this kitten is just another one of Kim’s publicity stunts.
