(CELEBRITY NEWS) Actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, and Tobey Maguire have a new movie in the works, and its subject is something animal advocates can relate to. The celebrities plan to collaborate and produce a film focused on animal trafficking. While the movie industry has been criticized for using live animals in films, this motion picture could discourage producers from continuing to do so and alert the public of the harsh but true realities animals suffer through around the world. Even more, the project could be just the thing to stop poaching in its tracks by raising enough awareness on the issue. Read on to learn more about the upcoming film and how the actors are using their celebrity power to denounce animal cruelty. — Global Animal

Here is some exciting movie news. The Hollywood Reporter just announced Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and Tobey Maguire will unite in producing a new anti-poaching movie.

The untitled Warner Brothers film will be based around animal-trafficking. Hardy, most-recently known for his role as Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises,” came up with the idea.

He found inspiration from former Special Forces operative, also his friends, who are now anti-poaching fighters in South Africa and other countries.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be modeled after Oscar-nominee “Traffic,” as they hope to tell the story through multiple stories. It will follow all sorts of poaching elements such as, the ground war on poachers in Africa and using animals for fashion.

Fans of DiCaprio shouldn’t be surprised he has taken on this project, as he is a huge animal lover. From speaking on behalf of the World Wildlife Fund to campaigning for elephant protection for the International Fund for Animal Welfare, he does it all. DiCaprio’s lifelong friend Maguire also has made headlines for animal activism with his vegan diet.

No word yet whether the three actors will star in the film; and a writer is still being sought.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
