The star tied the knot with fiance and co-star Benjamin Millepied over the weekend, and the ceremony was exactly what one would expect from the eco-friendly actress.
According to People, the evening nuptials took place on a bluff on the Big Sur coast, and blended Portman’s Jewish faith with Millepied’s French heritage. The bride wore a long-sleeved, tea-length gown by Rodarte with a crown of wildflowers, while the groom was clad in a navy tux.
The couple were married beneath a chuppah made of twigs, and wore traditional Jewish prayer shawls during the 45-minute ceremony, which ended with Millepied stomping on a glass to shouts of “Mazel Tov!”
In a nod to Portman’s environmentally-friendly lifestyle, the flowers for the ceremony were all indigenous to the area. And although the actress opted for a vegetarian diet during her pregnancy, it appears she’s now back to her strict vegan ways. People reports that the couple’s wedding feast was 100% vegan, with no “fish or steak” option in sight. Additionally, the newlyweds opted to forego a traditional wedding cake, instead celebrating their nuptials with French macarons.
As for favors, the guests, who included Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin, received packets of wildflowers, which were simply inscribed with “Merci.” The newlyweds’ 14-month-old son Aleph was also in attendance.
Congrats to the happy couple!
