Peter Dinklage, the star of Game of Thrones, is fighting both on and off the screen. The actor who plays Tyrion Lannister announced in a new PSA that he’s this years national spokesperson for Walk For Animals, a fundraising and outreach event to stop farm animal abuse and suffering.
Dinklage, who has been a vegetarian since he was 16, won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role in the popular HBO series. In the video the actor states, “Each year, billions of animals are subjected to extreme cruelty on factory farms, feedlots, and slaughterhouses.”
Walk for Animals will take place in over 35 cities across North America. The walks are sponsored by Farm Sanctuary, an animal organization that has worked to end animal cruelty for over 25 years.
“When you walk for farm animals, you help spread the word about farm animal cruelty, and what can be done to stop it,” Dinklage urges, “Walk for hope. Walk for compassion. Walk for farm animals.”
