New Bill To Pair Dogs With Veterans

(LEGISLATION) The House of Representatives unanimously passed  the Veterans Dog Training Therapy Act earlier this week with a feature that will pair trained shelter dogs with veterans. Living with a pet can only improve the lives of our soldiers when they return from duty, giving them a helpful companion filled with unconditional love. We applaud our government for their effort on passing the Veterans Dog Training Therapy Act and hope to see this bill implemented after further approval. — Global Animal

Four-Legged Therapists Help Heal War Wounds

(SERVICE DOGS) – Unwanted and abandoned dogs fill animal shelters nationwide, and not many will get a second chance. But, in California there’s an organization saving one dog at a time and, in the process, helping soldiers who served. One of those people is Leif Meisinger, a combat veteran who still wears a military-style buzz cut. His arms are tapestries of colored ink, including a few tattoos he got in Iraq.
