Wild Horses: Fair Game On Public Land

(TAKE ACTION) The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) collected 23 wild horses from the Virginia Range earlier this month. The “South Reno 23” horses were sent to the Fallon Livestock Yard where they were auctioned off. Purchasers of wild horses are known to truck their winnings to Canada or Mexico to be killed for human consumption. Wild horse advocacy groups in came together to bid for and save these 23 horses. Today, an additional 25 wild horses from the same area will be auctioned off. Advocacy groups are hoping to raise enough funds to save these remaining horses. — Global Animal

Activists Bully French Food Banks for Taking Bullfighting Meat

(ANIMAL RIGHTS) French food banks are receiving harsh criticism from displeased animal rights supporters after receiving meat from bulls killed in bullfights. Activists such as Thierry Hely, spokesman for France’s FLAC anti-bullfighting association, condemn the food banks acceptance of the meat, which came from “particularly revolting suffering.” This argument over meat allotment should not overshadow the underlying matter: bullfighting. World’s Oldest Dog Dies

(PETS) JAPAN — We are sad to report the oldest living dog, Pusuke, has passed away. Living to be 26 years old, which is 117 in human years, this dog had a long full life. Our thoughts are with Pusuke’s guardian. — Global Animal
