Loyal Dog Attends Mass, Waits For Late Caretaker

(TOUCHING TALE) A dog inside of a church is a rather strange sight, but at the Santa Maria Assunta church in the Italian village of San Donaci, it’s a routine. A seven-year-old German Shepherd named Ciccio has been regularly attending mass at the church that he used to visit with his caretaker for years. The loyal dog was adopted by Maria Margherita Lochi who passed away two months ago. Ever since, he’s been attending mass, faithfully waiting for his human companion to return. Soldier Leaves No Dog Behind

(ANIMAL LOVERS) AFGHANISTAN — AFGHANISTAN — A year ago, United States marine Shaun Duling arrived in Afghanistan to begin his year-long deployment. Upon arrival, Duling encountered a malnourished stray dog, living on the camp named Bolt, who eventually became the soldier’s best friend. Unfortunately, their reunited relationship continued for only a short time before Duling was returned to the states. As of this week, Duling has received nearly $4,400 in donations and Bolt is expected to make his trip to Duling’s home in Alexandria, Virginia within the next month. Heroic Dog Gives Life To Save Guardian

(HEROIC PETS) A dog lost his life last Thursday when he pulled his guardian out of the way of an oncoming train. According to Russian news site Ria Novosti, the 48-year old man sought to end his life by drinking a bottle of vodka and falling asleep on train tracks in the city of Karaganda. Aida Muldashevan, an investigator with the local transport police department, said,  ”Upon seeing the train, the dog started pulling its owner away. When train drivers saw the dog on the rail tracks, they used the emergency brake.” But it was too late. — Global Animal

Loyal Dog Refuses To Leave Caretaker’s Grave (VIDEO)

(LOYAL DOG VIDEO) Villagers in Panjiatun, China encountered an extreme act of loyalty when they noticed a dog safeguarding the gravesite of late caretaker, Lao Pan, who died earlier this month. Even after seven days without food, the furry friend refused to leave the grave. Villagers have been bringing the dog food and water, and are also planning to build a kennel at the gravesite for the faithful pooch to sleep in.
