Restaurant Fools With Foie Gras Law

(ANIMAL ABUSE) The recent California ban on foie gras is underway, but that hasn’t stopped some Californians from attempting to serve this product of cruelty. A San Francisco restaurant is claiming that legally they can still serve foie gras, as their business is on federal property and thus must only adhere to federal laws. Protestors have once again gathered to inform the consumers of the cruelty the birds suffer through to produce engorged livers. California Says “Au Revior” To Foie Gras

(ANIMAL CRUELTY) CALIFORNIA — A battle between California chefs and animal rights activists is underway and the reason is fatty goose or duck liver, commonly known as foie gras. The ban to sell or produce foie gras in California will go into effect July 1, 2012. Although the ban was passed in 2004, officials allotted a seven-year grace period for the restaurant to develop a more humane way of producing the livers.
