Stable Shut Down After Negligent Horse Deaths

(ANIMAL WELFARE) Cedar Lane Stables, a riding stable in Queens, has been shut down due to numerous horse fatalities. The stable lost the operator’s license after six horses died in the course of the past few months, two from undetermined causes. Cedar Lane used a “rough board” system—meaning customers paid the stable to house their horses, but were still required to care for the animal themselves. Unfortunately, some owners became negligent and abandoned care of their horses, while the stable simply ignored the fact that the animals were starving to death. In fact, Cedar Lane was so unaware of the conditions of their housed horses that a fowl died due to neglected medical attention. Read on to find out whether this irresponsible stable will be reopened. — Global Animal

Turkeys Raped By Technology For Thanksgiving

(FARM ANIMALS) With Thanksgiving fast approaching, it is necessary we re-evaluate our traditions. Each Butterball Turkey purchased for the dining room table condones cruel procedures that have forever destroyed the natural abilities of these once wild animals. In order to create the meatiest birds, farmers breed for a large breasted turkey. As a result of this superficial process, it is impossible for any factory born turkey to mate naturally. The feathered animals’ pectoral muscles are so overgrown that they can not physically connect with a turkey of the opposite sex. Alongside these already observed repercussions, U.S. states are now asking the FDA for permission to blend animal feed with contaminated grain since much of their crop would otherwise be unusable.
