One Man’s Actions Save Hundreds Of Dogs From Being Eaten In China

CHINA (ANIMAL WELFARE) –Hundreds of dogs were saved from their dinner plate fate in China thanks to one man who took action. The heroic man, who remains unidentified, spread word online of starved and cramped dogs he saw piled into a truck while he drove on a Beijing highway. In a short time, about 200 people had joined him to stop the truck driver and save the dogs. The activists blockaded the truck and demanded the release of the canine prisoners, giving the truck driver around $17,000 US dollars for the dogs’ release. Their success is a stellar example of changing cultural mores in China, where dogs have often been dinner rather than trusty, beloved companions. Even more so, this inspiring story serves as proof that one person can change anything. – Global Animal
