(DOG RESCUE) Amazing photos of a mother dog rescuing her litter of puppies from a house fire in Chile went viral on Friday. The mother, Amanda, apparently knew the safest place to bring her pups. The heroic mom carried each one away from the flames to the safety of a nearby fire truck. Scent pad samples of the two cousins’ shoes were given to the dogs to help trace their whereabouts, which caused a significant reaction in the canines. A Dutch Shepherd named Ginny became the first mine search and rescue dog. Alpha Natural Resources, the company that manages Ginny, is merging search and rescue methods and technologies with dog capabilities. Ginny, who was selected from a top breeding kennel for police dogs, underwent an extensive and comprehensive training program by Bill Dotson, president of Applied K9 Technologies. (CELEBRITY NEWS) PUERTO RICO — Thanks to a generous donation of $350,000 from Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas and his wife Marisol, Pets Alive has a new sanctuary in Utado, Puerto Rico. Before the sanctuary, stray pets had to be flown all the way to New York for medical treatment, now they can be treated immedietly.
