Protest The Cruelest Show On Earth (SCHEDULE BY CITY)

(CIRCUS PROTEST) For the rest of the year, filthy, poorly ventilated boxcars with the logo “Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus” will tour the country carrying creatures of the wild in chains and cages. Elephants, monkeys, big cats, and other circus animals will be forced to travel for an average of more than 26 hours—and as long as 60 to 100 hours, all in the name of “entertainment.”  Here’s how you can join the circus protest and find great information on how to get involved. — Global Animal

Lawmakers Roar To Save King Of The Jungle

(POLITICS) Last month, politicians took action toward finalizing the much needed preservation of big cats in Africa. A bipartisan group of 44 members of Congress sent a letter to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service urging them to preserve the African lion under the Endangered Species Act. It’s about time Washington finally decided to step in and help, because in the past 30 years alone, the population of Africa’s lions has been essentially cut in half due to an importation of lion “trophies,” such as lion skins and their parts, with the United States as a the clear leader in importation. Could Snow Leopards Become Domestic Cats?

(ENDANGERED SPECIES) PAKISTAN — In an effort to conserve Snow Leopards, an expert has proposed that we begin labeling the big cats as a domestic animal. Snow Leopards are an endangered species and have witnessed a recent decline in population due to hunting and retaliation by farmers. Labeling these cats as domestic could mean that farmers would be compensated for any of their livestock killed by the Snow Leopards. The expert, Shafqat Hussain, claims that people can easily co-exist with these leopards as they have never been known to attack people, and therefore there is no reason to consciously separate the two. Read on to see why some do not agree with the controversial proposal, and give us your feedback. — Global Animal

HSUS Cracks Down On Nation’s Largest Exotic Animal Owner (VIDEO)

(ANIMAL WELFARE) Since reporting on the exploitation of tiger cubs throughout American shopping malls and the associated death of 23 tiger cubs, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) recently published findings from their very own undercover investigation in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Shockingly, during the four month investigation at Joe Schreibvogel’s G.W. Exotic Animal Park, another five tigers died. Not only do these findings correspond with Schreibvogel’s long history of negligence, but the investigation also suggests that Schreibvogel may be the largest private owner of tigers in the nation, housing as many as 200 tigers and more than 1,000 other species. Read on to learn more about Schreibvogel’s corrupt pseudo-sanctuary and how the HSUS is seeking swift action to address these problems. Don’t forget to sign the petition in support of banning ownership of big cats. — Global Animal
