Illinois Senate Passes Puppy Lemon Law Proposal

(ANIMAL LAWS) The Illinois Senate has just approved what is commonly referred to as a “puppy lemon law.” This type of legislation, which has been enacted in at least 20 states, outlines legal remedies for pet guardians who find out their animal was seriously ill at the time of purchase. Under the Illinois proposal, if a claim is successfully made, the pet will either be returned, exchanged, or the guardian will be reimbursed for reasonable veterinary fees. Many are pleased with this new “puppy lemon law” bill, yet the regulation still avoids the root of the problem. If animals are cared for properly, less would be susceptible to serious illnesses, and pet guardians would not have to “remedy” their pet purchases. Something’s Fishy About Kim Kardashian’s Feet

(CELEBRITY NEWS) Aside from her all-too-public (and extremely short-lasting) marriage to Chris Humphries and her Brady Bunch-esque family of celebs, Kim Kardashian is becoming known for her particularly strange beauty regimen. Jason Collins Scores For Gay Animals

Bob Barker’s Price Is Right To Save University Cats

(ANIMAL RIGHTS) Recently, PETA released a video of a cruel animal testing practice at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) called Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In most universities, this procedure is performed on a simulator, but for some reason the antiquated system at WUSTL allows students to perform this traumatic procedure on nine live cats, and sometimes even up to 15 gruelling intubations per session. Following the release of PETA’s video, animal activist and legendary game show host Bob Barker penned a letter to the school’s chancellor with a very kind proposition. Read on to find out more on Bob’s generous offer to WUSTL and see how you can help put an end to this animal cruelty. — Global Animal
