(TOUCHING TALE) OREGON — A homeless man robbing people with a pit bull has forever lost his canine accomplice. Scooter, a four-year old pit bull, accompanied the man who used her as a weapon to intimidate innocent victims he robbed. When the man was finally apprehended, his dog’s fate remained unknown. With an unexpected rehabilitation, Scooter was given a second chance at a life free of crime. She now lives with a new guardian, and is even a trained therapist for people. Tunisian Group Lobbies For Constitutional Animal Rights

100,000 Endangered Species Condoms, Free on Earth Day

(ENDANGERED SPECIES) The Center for Biological Diversity is taking a creative approach to the issue of extinction this Earth Day. On April 22, they will give out 100,000 condoms across the United States with pictures of endangered species on them. The goal is to highlight the connection between human overpopulation and dwindling resources for wildlife. Stolen Fairy Penguin Finds His Way Home

(ANIMAL NEWS) AUSTRALIA — Dirk, a 7-year-old fairy penguin bred in captivity, was stolen by three men from a Sea World on Queensland’s Gold Coast Saturday night. Dirk was found by a couple on Sunday in a local shark infested estuary. Sea World workers came to get Dirk and took him back to his home and mate, Peaches.
