Chelsea Handler Fights NYC Horse Drawn Carriages

(CELEBRITY NEWS) With carriage horses still collapsing in New York City streets, an increasing number of celebrities are working hard to try and enforce a ban on the city’s horse carriages. Joining alongside celebrities Lea Michele, Anjelica Huston, and Kristin Chenoweth, Chelsea Handler recently sent a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg about replacing NYC’s horse-drawn carriages with an eco-friendly 21st century horseless carriage. When the winning purses become more than twice the value of the race horse, trainers will do whatever it takes to make sure their horse can race. That includes doping them up, ignoring injuries, and making them run themselves into the ground. Their new program, “Cuddly Catz,” brings shelter cats with behavioral problems into the prison and assigns them to two inmates.
