(ANIMAL WELFARE/ANIMAL TESTING) Spring has finally sprung, and what better time to go cruelty-free? Cruelty Free International is asking consumers to look out for the Leaping Bunny logo before buying household products this spring.
When you’re prepping for spring cleaning this season, be sure to buy products that don’t test on animals, as indicated by the reputable Leaping Bunny logo. Cruelty Free International is also calling to put an end to animal testing for household products. The rabbit is one of the most renowned animals associated with Spring time, however the species is now also synonymous with animal testing and many consumers will be all too familiar with the images of rabbits in stocks being prepared for tests.
Now that Spring has sprung, Cruelty Free International is appealing to everyone to look out for the Leaping Bunny logo when purchasing household and cleaning products.
This logo is a hallmark of compassion and is awarded to companies that do not carry out animal testing in order for consumers to have a new kitchen cleaner or washing up liquid. There is a broad choice of cruelty-free cleaners, washing powers and detergents available from major high street companies such as Marks & Spencer, Superdrug and the Co-op, in addition to a diverse range of products from Astonish, Method, Ecover, Bio-D and Faith in Nature.
In 2010, the Coalition Government committed to ending all animal tests for household products and ingredients, yet three years later, the Government has still not made a final announcement regarding the ban and now looks set on doing a U-turn having indicated that only finished products will be covered by the ban and not the ingredients.
Cruelty Free International CEO, Michelle Thew, said:
“We know that the public wants to see an end to these cruel and unnecessary animal tests. That is why we urge everyone to take note this Spring and shop with compassion and look out for the Leaping Bunny. We also invite people to join our Clean Up Cruelty campaign and call on the Government to keep its promise and finally introduce a ban on household product tests on animals.
