Peter Dinklage, Wendy Williams, and Other Notable New Yorkers Appear in PETA Video Condemning Horse-Drawn Carriage Trade

The move to ban horse-drawn carriages in New York City has many Big Apple–based celebs, such as Peter Dinklage—whose hit show Game of Thrones returns on April 6—cheering on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s commitment to ending the cruel and dangerous trade. In a stirring two-minute video for PETA, Dinklage, Wendy Williams, P!nk, Lea Michele, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Najimy, and others lend their support to the campaign to get the 200 horses out of traffic and onto farms, where they belong.

“Those carriages are rolling torture wagons for nature’s most dignified creature,” says Baldwin in the video.

Adds Williams, “They need to do away with the carriage horses here in New York.”

The video ends with a clip of Mayor de Blasio reaffirming his commitment to ending the carriage trade, asserting that horse-drawn carriages are “not humane and not appropriate to the year 2014.”
